Design & Registration of Qualifications, Skills Programmes and Learnerships
VCA
has been involved in a number of projects to design new qualifications and strategically
position and align education and training initiatives so that they qualify for
registration under the Skills Development Act and regulations.
This, in turn, can qualify such interventions for tax rebates and other
financial assistance from the State.
We facilitated the design of the first generic qualifications in South Africa in 2006, have actively participated
in the design of many Administration qualifications and registered two of the
first seven Learnerships in South
Africa with the Department of Labour on
behalf of clients.
We passionately support the development and implementation of skills programmes
and learnerships, as employers can employ people for short periods, while
unskilled employees can be empowered during such periods by the acquisition of
skills enhancing future employability or entrepreneurship.
Skills Programmes and Learnerships are strategic priorities for South Africa
and are thus key objectives of the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS).
